The Annual General Meeting of the Cosmopolitan Ladies Club Cologne was held at the Alte Feuerwache on September 28th, 2016 beginning at 2 p.m.
Our current chairperson welcomed the 17 members present including a new Greek member Maria and handed over to our secretary, who read out the minutes of the 2015 AGM. These were accepted unanimously by the members and then one of our social hostesses read out the Social Report for the 2015/2016 Club year. This report is always a great favourite with the members as it recalls all the events – both IN and OUT meetings – which took place during the previous Club year. There were a lot of spontaneous remarks such as “Oh, yes, do you remember that?” and “That was great fun”. A retrospective shows us all how much we achieve during the Club year.
Our treasurer unfortunately couldn’t attend as she was ill but our chairperson presented the Treasurer’s Report in her place. As usual our finances are impeccable and the Club is on a firm basis.
Our chairperson then thanked the 2015/2016 committee for all their work and proposed a new committee for 2016/2017. This includes all of the previous committee as well as our Danish member who joined during last Club year and had volunteered for the post as Social Hostess. The post became vacant since one of the other Social Hostesses had moved to the newly created post of Press Officer, which was felt to be necessary for the website and the Facebook page.

This proposed committee was elected unanimously by the members.
Finally, the new committee proposed that our charity for the coming year should be the Alte Feuerwache, the money donated to be used for programmes working with young girls. The members were delighted with this and it was adopted unanimously.
We finished as always with coffee and cake and had lots of opportunities to chat to each other and catch up after the summer.
