Visit to Café Auszeit of the SkF on 19th February 2025

12 Ladies visited the Café Auszeit which is the meeting point for the SkF’s project “Come Back”, our this year’s charity. Anne Rossenbach, responsible for PR matters, gave us a very interesting and informative report on the work of the SkF Köln. The most important figure in their history was Marie Le Hanne Reichensperger who co-founded the original “Verein vom guten Hirten” 125 years ago. She looked after women during and after their imprisonment and unmarried women during and after their pregnancy. The SkF Köln nowadays runs about 50 accommodations or services in Cologne and we were very impressed by the variety of services and the commitment of the people working there be it employed or voluntary personnel (approx. 600 in total). One of the services being the sewing group who also sews for Karneval Clubs and Groups and participated in this year’s procession.
Our visit was surrounded by a lunch at Ginti and More before and coffee and cake at Fassbender’s on Mitttelstraße afterwards. All in all an extremely enjoyable day.
