11 members met at 12:30 for a lovely relaxed lunch in Vellini’s on Eigelstein– known in a previous existence as Rossini’s- as our usual lunch venue in the Alte Feuerwache was booked for a group of 80 at lunchtime. We are of course delighted that the AF restaurant is doing so well but did miss our usual environment.

Our IN- Meeting which was our Annual Book Sale, started punctually at 2 p.m. in our meeting room in the Alte Feuerwache and we had quite a big selection of books , both in English and German, which our members had donated. The money from the sale goes to our current charity which this year is the SkF’s project “Sen(i)ora” in Cologne . With this project this organisation, Sozialdienst katholischer Frauen, which has been active for over 100 years, provides help to female seniors who cannot manage their lives anymore, .

Now 17 ladies shared our usual tea/coffee and cake – the latter being brought by members and so always both varied and delicious- and swopped information about upcoming events in Cologne and the area. This is an important feature of our Club meetings as each and every member brings fresh information to share with the whole group.

We finished up as usual at 4 p.m. by which time -thankfully- the heavy rain had more or less given up.
