On Nov 27 we officially opened the Christmas season with our traditional Advent Tea. Our room at the Alte Feuerwache was festively decorated, complete with lovely poinsettias, which were sold at the end for € 5 each, the profits going to our current charity at Michaelshoven. The buffet of homebaked goodies ranged from sweet to savory, an international array representing the range of our members. One of our new members, Anna, read us a human interest Christmas story, even inspiring us to include such readings at further gatherings. The Christmas stocking was passed around, collecting donations for our charity. We had a record attendance this year of 27, and collected €255 for our charity. We all agreed it was a delightful way to begin the Christmas season.
