After a presence of almost 70 years in NRW, 2019 marks the withdrawal of the British Armed Forces. In order to commemorate this occasion and to document the good relationship between the state and the British Army, an exhibition called “Briten in Nordrhein-Westfalen 1945 – 2019” was organised in the Landtag in Düsseldorf. On display were documents and memorabilia donated by various British and Anglo-German societies and organisations, among which were the 40th anniversary commemorative booklet and the current flyer of the Cosmo Club and items of interest concerning Monika Howland’s late husband, Chris.
On Saturday, May 18th the Cosmo Club, along with numerous other Anglo-German and British groups had the opportunity to present itself with a stand in the Landtag. Barbara MS, Barbara R., Lesley, Monika H and Linda travelled to Düsseldorf to promote our club. It was a most interesting afternoon and it enabled us to meet and connect with other clubs and institutions.
