Once again we had the pleasure of a tour with John Sykes, one of our favourite tour guides. This time it was St Ursula, Basilika of Cologne’s patron saint, Ursula. It is one of Cologne’s many Romanesque churches and has been the destination of pilgrims for many centuries. . Its roots date back to late Roman Cologne, making it one of the oldest continuously used churches in Germany. Its Golden Chamber, with its neatly arranged skulls and bones, is considered one of Cologne’s tourist attractions. Being close to the cathedral, it is often overlooked, as it is rather small and compact, but it’s well-worth a visit, as John’s tour has pointed out. 20 ladies attended this first OUT meeting after the Easter break.
