Today we had a special treat! A guitar concert just for us, in our meeting room at the Alte Feuerwache. Victor Balaguer, a young, accomplished guitarist, living at the moment in Cologne, gave us a full hour of wonderful guitar music. Some of the pieces were traditional, some his own compositions. He doesn’t sing, which at first seemed unusual for a guitarist, but this gives you the chance to concentrate completely on his music. We were mesmerized, not only by his music, but also by his personable manner. Perhaps we can invite him back next year.
To complete the enjoyable afternoon, many interested, perspective new members joined us, both for lunch and the concert. So, we had a chance to mingle and meet new ladies of diverse nationalities.
